Across KentuckyKentucky is one of three states selected to participate in a new federal mini-grant program aimed at assisting school systems in getting more locally grown produce onto their cafeteria lines. The Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s Tina Garland, says somewhere between 30 and 50 of these $5,000 mini-grants could help school systems here with a number of actions to boost the “farm-to-school” movement toward use of locally grown foods in school menus.
